Karla McGregor, P.h.D., Awarded 2023 ASHA Honors of the Association

Karla McGregor, Senior Scientist and Director for the Center for Childhood Deafness, Language and Learning at Boys Town has been awarded the 2023 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Honors of the Association Award. She was 1 of 10 recipients and will receive the award at the ASHA convention in November!
This award recognizes individuals with “distinguished contributions to the discipline of communication sciences and disorders” and it is the highest honor ASHA bestows. To receive this honor, one must have made significant contributions to the profession that has fundamentally “changed or enhanced” its trajectory. “I am extremely fortunate to have work that keeps me motivated, curious, and challenged. It is a great honor to have this work recognized by my peers,” explained Karla McGregor.
“Dr. Karla McGregor has made substantial contributions to the study of child language and awareness of developmental language disorders throughout her career,” said Ryan McCreery, Vice President of Research at Boys Town. “Boys Town is so lucky to have her leading our clinical, educational, and research programs to help improve the lives of children with language and learning problems, but the impact of her work extends far beyond the children and families we serve.
