We conduct applied research focused on understanding the nature of problems children and families face in today's world and identifying the most effective ways to help them.

The applied research conducted by the Boys Town Child and Family Translational Research CenterSM focuses on:

  • The development and evaluation of interventions for youth and their families
  • Understanding youth and family risk and protective processes related to child maltreatment, substance misuse, and juvenile offending
  • Examining the behavioral-emotional, mental health, and educational problems of youth

The Translational Research Center is dedicated to:

  • Contributing to scientific literature on topics related to child and family development and interventions, as well as keeping scientists and practitioners informed of our work
  • Employing knowledgeable interdisciplinary research scientists and analysts
  • Collaborating with experts in the social science fields
